Can you open a sample compay (top choice of menu)?

Did you change the name of a file?

I believe the sample company opens, yes, no the file name was not changed, it was closed as normal, did a backup.  I am wondering if it makes sense to open a new company and then restore the backup?

You should restore from the last backup. Do not open a new company.

Open the sample company to verify if SAGE is working, then restore.

If the sample does not open, any other ideas?

Opening the sample company is used to verify that your SAGE is working correctly.

If it is working correctly then restore from your last backup and give it a new name.

The update is another matter.
