Remove Account Number in Chart of Accounts

Created an account in 2020. Posted to it, Removed post. Incorrect account number created. I want to remove it so it is not used. System not allowing me. Is there another step I need to take to remove it.?

Once it is posted to, you cannot change the account number unless you are using the Accountant's Edition.

Once it is posted to, you cannot change the account number unless you are using the Accountant's Edition.

At this point, don't post to it and after you transition two fiscal years, you will be able to delete it. For now add DO NOT USE to the beginning if the name.
