Why is sage opening windows on my second screen and not on the screen that I am working on?

SUGGESTED

Hi Everyone,

We have a new employee and her Sage keeps opening windows up on her second screen and not on the larger screen she is working on. She keeps having to drag the window over because she is working on a small laptop and cannot read anything.

I have tried having her open Sage on the screen she is working on but that doesn't fix it. I tried swapping the display settings with both monitors but then the position is off for mouse to flow between the monitors.

Isn't Sage suppose to recognize the dominant screen after a few times of dragging the window over?

Please help.

    Hi Laura,

Try to set your larger screen as a primary monitor. It may help.

I am having this same issue and have found that Sage will open in whatever screen my mouse is actively on at the time.  I have three screens...is there a way to make Sage stop doing that and only open windows on a default screen?

I personally have not tracked this myself.  Mine opens predominantly on my second monitor because I have used it there most of the time.  I believe Sage 50 usually tracks the last monitor used and stores that in the database.  The last used monitor is based on the machine used at that time as well.  If you open the program under your username on multiple machines in the office, each may have a different monitor configuration and each monitor can be a different resolution.  The program stores position as pixels I think and each monitor can have a different number of pixels.  This is sometimes the reason why some windows open off screen.

If you find that it is not working properly, you can reset the window positions using the Sage_SA_dbutil.exe program in the Program installation directory.  When using this program, you must use the mouse to select the Ok button and you must use the sysadmin username/password to run it on your file.  It clears positions for all users.  I would backup your file before you use this utility.
