Shared company files with SAGE ID

3 of us share access to 4 company files. Regularly I try to open one of the shared companies, it does the download, opening data base, synchronizing and updating. Then I get the message "This shared company is already open". Even if someone else is in the data in single user mode, I should be able to open the data as read only. Have tried deleting the company files from my computer beforehand but this still happens. it is a nuisance. Anyone know why this happens??

    I get this when NOBODY else in is Sage... for some ridiculous reason, it seems to get hung up. So, I keep trying to log in again, and again and again. until it lets me in.  I hope Sage figures out these glitches.

    Oh, I have been through the wringer with Sage online but it is finally resolved - but not sure why.  I hat to send my file in to Sage to be fixed.They didn't charge me anything on the database fix as they said it had to do with the online access only or something like that. I am unsure what exactly went wrong.  Because even after I initially got my file back the same things would happen. That is when I had to follow their instructions EXACTLY with putting a "1"  at the front of the company file name.  This was their instructions on the restore.  Not sure why it had to be this way and sorry I can't offer any great insight. 

    • Restore the file with a new name
    • Open the file go to setup - setting - company - information
    • Change the company name (make a change to 1st 12 characters or add a 1 to the start of the name)
    • Try to share the file
    • If successful - rename the company back to original in the settings
