sage50 accounting 2016 version

SOLVED

i have a 2-user sage 50 accounting 2016 version.

usually, if i log in the user on a third laptop, one of the previous laptops log in stops working

i logged in on a third laptop, and it accepted my credentials (username, ID etc) but then when i double click the application to actually open, it does not open up. is this because sage50 2016 is discontinued? is there anything i can do?

I'm not completely clear about your sequence of events, so I will explain this way.

With a 2-user version of the program, you are allowed to install the program on up to two computers and log into the same file to a maximum of two users simultaneously.

If you installed on a third computer, the program will still only allow you to open a company file and log in with only two users maximum.  The same username cannot log in twice from different computers simultaneously.  Also, usernames in Sage 50 are not tied to a computer, you can log into a file from different computers with the same name without problem, if you set up your custom forms and printing on your network properly.

hi, thanks for ur message. right now i have 2 laptops using sage. and i want to stop using the 2nd laptop and move to a 3rd. the 2nd laptop is currently shut down. so i installed sage on the third laptop, and tried to log in. it accepted my credentials, but wheni actually tried to open the programme, it would not fully open. from my expeirence, i can install on as many laptops as i like, but when i try to log in, the previous laptop should be deactivated, then the new laptop activated. is that not how it works?

This doesn't make sense to me.  When it accepts your credentials when logging in are you referring to Windows?  If so, that is irrelevant.

Can you open the Sage 50 Canadian program and access the sample file properly?  If not, hen likely you have a firewall issue and you can go through the Knowledgebase articles on that subject to work out how to add the Connection Manager and mysqld.exe if necessary.

The license allows you to install on as many computers as you have a license.

If you are moving to a new computer, uninstalling will deactivate it from your computer 2.
