Updating Data

Hello,

Recently, I found a Simply file for a committee within my company.  It dates back to 2012.  I know the committee was discussing the possibility of purchasing an accounting program so I mentioned that I found the data from 2012.  I was able to access it in my current version of Sage.  I am wondering how can I do Year-End (December 31, 2012) and bring it up-to-date to start using ASAP?

I am unsure why the committee stopped using Sage and converted back to using paper ledgers.

If you have the software that the file was made with, you could probably just keep using it (if the license permits), I don't believe it

If all you have is the data, you would have to buy the software.   (Sage's Sales department can help you with making sure you have a version and Edition that can convert the data.)

I am unsure why the committee stopped using Sage and converted back to using paper ledgers.

It may have been just as easy for them to use a paper ledger at the time, or too steep of a learning curve to adopt Sage 50, or it just wasn't suitable, or the information should be tracked in the company's existing systems.

You will need to install (but not activate) the 2015.3 release to convert older files, then install a current version (demo) and you will be able to see what the file contains.
