Sage 50 Cdn Edition won't open because "api-ms-win-crt-runtime-I1-1-0.dll" is missing.

Can someone tell me how to fix this.  The problem may be I am still working on Windows 7.  And advice would be very much appreciated.  Thank you.

Sounds like the MS Visual C++2015 Redistributable utility did not install properly. This happens sometimes and you may need to download it from the Microsoft website and install separately. Then the currently installed program may function properly or you may need to reinstall it as well.

Did you have problems with the original install of the 2015 redistributable?

You can check the Control Panel, Programs and Features to see if you have it installed.

I've never had to do this myself, I am just reading what google responded with when I searched for that file. It affects a lot of programs when it doesn't install properly and therefore is not specifically a problem with Sage 50, just the accessory programs that need to be installed.

You can also check the Knowledgebase for an article that discusses this and it may have a link to the download for you.

I checked my programs and there were two versions of the C++2015 runtime listed.  So, I uninstalled them.  I went to the MS site and found the 64bit version of the 2015 runtime and downloaded it.  I double clicked to install and I am looking at an installation screen that has been stopped here for 15 minutes now....

Programs and features shows this file as installed.  But, the only button on the dialogue is the cancel button as shown.  Trying to run Sage with the dialogue open results in the same error.  Any further suggestions?

    Cheers!

me too. Why isn't there any response on this?

    Chris,

I only have one 64 bit computer and it has both x86 and x64 installed but both were installed the same date as I installed Visual Studio 2015 a year ago. Therefore I can't specifically say for sure that Sage 50 only requires the x86 version because it is primarily an x86 system.

However I was installing the server components on a machine yesterday and the whole thing hung for about 20 minutes. I tried to cancel it and reboot the server but that took another 15 minutes before I got back to where I could start the install over again. When I had it running again, I checked and the redistributable was installed. I reran the installation and it didn't try to install it again and the install was done quickly after that.

Other than this I can't help much more.

    Hope this helps

I was on the phone with Sage tech support for almost 2 hours with a very patient employee, and this was the info I got:

    support.na.sage.com/.../viewdocument.do

There were some other unique issues for me as I run sage off of Parallels as I use a mac, so in the end I had to uninstall Sage 50, and re-install and it worked.

The employee let me know there have been a lot of issues with this update.

    I hope this helps!!
