Important: Sage 50 Accounting product update delays

Dear Sage 50 Customer,

Some of our Sage Accountants Network partners and customers recently experienced a number of issues while upgrading to the 2020.1 release of Sage 50 Accounting. As a result, we have temporarily stopped further automatic updates of Sage 50 2020 until those issues are resolved.

We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience – our team is working extended hours to resolve the issues as quickly as possible. We currently anticipate the following product release schedule for the updated 2020.1 product update:

  • January 6th – automatic download of the Sage 50 2020.1 product update (Newavailable on KB 100797)

If you have already installed the earlier Sage 50 2020.1 release and tried converting, and your company files appeared to be missing, we have put together a helpful video that walks you through step-by-step instructions to convert your company to Sage 50 2020.1. For full details, please see Knowledgebase article 102392 (See  260-1009048 for French).

As the 2020.1 release contains payroll updates for January 2020, we understand that many customers are eager to receive the update in order to process payroll. Below are some options that may be helpful to you if you need to do payroll before January 6th:

  1. Manually install the current 2020.1 release of Sage 50 Accounting
If you have not yet installed the 2020.1 release, but would like to do so in order to receive the 2020 payroll tax tables, you can download the product update from our website. Please note that after conversion, company files may appear to be missing and you may need to perform additional troubleshooting steps. For full details, please see Knowledgebase article 102392 (See  260-1009048 for French). (After January 3, you can download an updated Sage50Accounting.exe and copy it over your existing Sage50Accounting.exe to avoid the conversion problem described above without taking the steps described in the Knowledgebase article) .

  2. Temporarily use your existing version of Sage 50 Accounting to process payroll
If you are not comfortable installing the 2020.1 release manually and performing any additional steps after installation, you can still process payroll in the interim using your existing version of Sage 50 Accounting (version 2019.4 or 2020.0). Once you receive the corrected 2020.1 automatic download, you can make adjustments to your payroll using the updated tax tables. For more information, see Knowledgebase article 102451 (see 260-1009049  for FR) .

We appreciate your patience and once again, sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused during this time.
