Aged Receivables report settings

My aged receivables report shows the invoice date and due date as being the same such that the "Current" column is empty and everything is overdue. How do I adjust my settings so that only invoices unpaid after 30 days show up as overdue?

To use the report you are using and actually show overdue amounts correctly, you need to set the number of Net days a customer can have to pay the bill. This can be done in three places.

    1) Setup, Settings, Receivables, Discount. Set the Net days and any NEW customer will have that as the default.

    2) On the customer ledger on the Options tab you can specify the number of Net days a specific customer has to pay (eg. 30 days from the date of invoice, then the invoice becomes overdue).

    3) On the invoice data entry screen at the bottom. This is the option that when posted, determines when something is overdue on the report you are referring to. If you set the customer's default to 30, you can still change an individual invoice to 60 if they have negotiated different terms. It will not be overdue until 60 days after the date of invoice and will then remain in the current column on the report for 60 days.

You should also be aware the report is called the Aged Overdue Receivables report. If you want just the Aged Receivables report (aged based on invoice date, not date overdue), it is called the Customer Aged report on the same menu. You can show the Terms on this report but not the due date.

I would not go back and adjust all your past invoices to make the invoices show up properly on the Overdue report as that would cause a lot of adjustments in your file. I would just set each customer using option #1 above and allow it to sort itself out as they pay older invoices, but it's up to you. It will only be a month until all currently posted invoices are overdue if they are not paid before then.
