Since Sage 50 replaced Simply Accounting this problem started to happen every time! When I backup the work I’ve done so far it’ll say ‘Backup Complete’. Then it STARTS UP again with the error message “Sage 50 cannot open the database because the database engine reported an error. Please see the error log for more information” Why???
It also says, “To resolve this issue, consult the Help on our Online Knowledgebase”, This is what its Knowledgebase explains the cause of this problem: “The database file is still open by Sage 50”…” OF COURSE IT’S STILL OPEN BY SAGE50! The programmers designed it that way!
It also happens whenever I finish working and CLOSE THE APP. The next time I open Sage50 the same error message appears. I’d like to meet the programmers and tell them what I think about them.
