Creating sub accounts on financial statement

SUGGESTED

Currently I am running different locations on the same Sage account. I would like to generate on my income statement the following categories but when i make the account it gives me an error message

5200 purchases

5201 Store A purchases
5202 Store B purchases

5203 Store C purchases.

I would like 5200 to show the total but the accounts after show a breakdown. Can someone help me. Thank you

It really helps us if you supply the error messages when you receive them.  Right now I am guessing.

However, since I literally just added a Subtotal account to set of books and got the message about accounts not being in a logical order, I am going to assume this is what happened to you.

You need 4 accounts based on your message.

    5201 Subgroup Account (A)

    5202 Subgroup Account (A)

    5203 Subgroup Account (A)

5205 Purchases Total Subgroup Total (S)

I didn't bother to redo the account names as you have them except for the last one.

I am assuming you are getting the error because your Subgroup Total is above the Subgroup accounts (see the area of the Accounts tab of the General Ledger for each account and look for Type).

I fixed my Group accounts and turned them into Subgroup accounts by hitting the tab key in the Chart of Accounts window but you can open each account in the ledger and change it on that dialog.
