I am new and don't have training but need help

SOLVED

I have the program, I have the backup from our accountant she has shown me a few things and all I want this for is to enter the bookkeeping  and give to them at end of year to save money, wow am I in over my head.... I started entering payables but my bank balance is not the same as what my first statement says... what do you suggest?

I need to take training I know, but its so expensive

thanks

If you have basic accounting experience and understand debits, credits, equity, retained earnings, depreciation, accruals and have reconciled your chequebook or business accounts in the past, I would give it a try just using the online chat and phone help - but if you haven't got an idea of how a profit and loss statement interacts with a balance sheet, or don't feel comfortable with the previous items listed here, I would go on a course. I am new to Sage too, so I have lots of empathy. I think Sage offers online courses, which are probably the most cost effective for you.

Otherwise, maybe you have a relative or friend who could coach you.

From the Home Screen go to Help. The drop down menu provides a number of options including free basic training, short videos, to full online classes. Check each of them and pick and choose according to the area you wish to work in at that time. learn what you can and then do it in the program. Next session learn the next necessary tip and then work with it. You could also sign up for some of the video learning sessions as you need more in depth training.

    Hope this helps
