quoting & invoicing - how to show 1 item, but for multiple days?

We are a company that rents items to clients. We have our rental items setup in Sage as inventory items. Often, we rent 1 item for multiple days. On the quote / invoice, we have to put '3', if the client rented it for 3 days. Many clients are confused since they only rented 1 item. In the forms designer, I can add a column so that the quote / invoice shows a column for quantity & then a column for the number of days & then one for the daily rental price. BUT, I can't make the form multiply quantity by number of days by daily rental price. Is there an option I am missing other than how we are doing it now?

thanks!

Are putting the number of days in the units column??? if so then that will not work. The only thing that would work is to put the units as days and the number of days in the qty column. If you have multiples of the same item; then you would either have to have a separate line for each item rented or increase the qty of days appropriately. The units column is never used in the price calculation. The form can only multiply qty x unit price!

Thanks Bruce - we don't put the number of days in the unit column. in order to avoid having a quote or invoice that is several pages long, we put the number of days times the quantity of each item under the quantity column so that it multiplies correctly by the price of the item. I completely understand how the form works & how it multiplies - I was checking to see if there is a work around that we aren't aware of or a way to add a column & add the multiplication calculation to the form.

Sorry but there is no way to change the way screen calculations work that I am aware of. I have been using the software since 2010 to manage a small bicycle repair shop and I make extensive use of the inventory, sales & purchasing modules.
Your rental scenario has some unique challenges that I fortunately do not have to deal with! I would say that your method is probably the best that you can do within the limitations of the Sage 50 accounting software
