What's new in Sage 50 CA version 2019.3?

Get ready for our latest Sage 50 CA update with changes coming to two key areas:

  • Payroll Taxes
  • Sales Taxes

Look for the Sage 50 CA program to prompt you once the update is available. Sage Accountants Network members (SANs) can expect to see the install on June 17th (Today!). If all goes as planned, the release will be made available to all users between the 18th and 24th of June starting with Quantum edition users.

The other big announcement (see more below) is that Sage 50 CA will now integrate with AutoEntry. This means that users will now be able to connect their company file to this cloud based solution to eliminate manual data entry.

More on Payroll's Tax Tables Update

Sage 50 2019.3 includes the latest payroll tax tables as of July 1st, 2019.

We recommend installing this release prior to your first pay period on or after July 1st even through there's been no changes to tax rates for any province in Canada.

Note that effective July 1st, 2019, the provincial sales tax in Manitoba (Manitoba Retail Sales Tax, RST) is reduced to 7% from 8%. This tax is applied on the retail sale of most goods and some services, and is calculated on the selling price before the GST is applied.  If your company uses a tax code with the PST for Manitoba included, then a wizard with the 2019.3 release will guide you on the steps to take to implement this change. The Manitoba Retails Sales Tax Update wizard helps Manitoba clients convert easily by updating the RST and tax codes to the new rate.

What to know

  • When creating a new company with an address in Manitoba, the new tax rate is used by default (if you've installed release 2019.3)
  • Note that PST in Manitoba is also referred to as RST (Retail Sales Tax)

You can locate the wizard by going to Sage 50 CA's Setup menu > Wizards > Manitoba PST Update… as well.
