Setting Up Additional Fields in Sage 50 CA

Did you know that Additional Information fields became available in versions Sage 50 CA 2015 and later?

 Additional Information fields are available for:

  • Order, invoices and packing slips
  • Display more inventory details to your customers by adding the extra columns using these fields onto forms
  • Include a more detailed description or additional information for your products and services

 

There are many possibilities to choose from. For example, use these additional fields to:

Create Customer Numbers!

  • Go to Setup > Settings > under each module's subgroup selections there should be one titled Names. See the example below for the AR (Client & Services module).

  • You'll have to manually track your created customer numbers. Enter them directly on the client's profile using the Additional Info tab.


 

  • Modify the client list to see a report which includes the client number field! Go to Reports > Lists > Clients > Report Columns, on the left > then Add from the Column Name table on the left to the (columns shown on the report) Column Name table on the right.

Note: The additional information fields are limited to 25 characters maximum.

 

Track Due Dates for Vendor Invoices!

Go to your Accounts Payable module which may be labelled Suppliers & Expenses depending on your industry profile. Create an Invoice, then add an Additional Date (Due Date) by clicking the envelop with a check mark icon, see image below.

This date will show up on the All Transactions report with Additional Information checked off beforehand in the report's settings.

Customized Forms & Reporting Using Additional Info Fields

KB 48583 details how to add these additional fields to customized forms, see the Columns Setup window. Use Sage Intelligence Reporting to add them to customized reports since the default reports which allow their use are limited. Mostly just the All Transactions report and or the customization of the List reports allow you to add in Additional Information fields.
