New feature for O365 with Sage 50cloud: Pegg!

3 minute read time.

Did you know that Sage 50 has a smart digital assistant
to help manage your transactions?

Meet Pegg!

Pegg is simple, fast, and easy to use.
It synchronizes all of your transactions with Office 365 and Sage 50cloud!
It pulls the information from your companies that are connected to Office 365.

Please note: Pegg for Sage 50cloud is still in beta and has limited features. For now, you can ask Pegg for customer information such as contact details, credit, and invoices. Pegg is still being developed and we will have further updates for you in the future!

Eventually, you’ll be able to photograph receipts and add transactions such as incomes and expenses.
Pegg for Sage Business Cloud Accounting can already do this.

Below is an example of how Pegg interacts during the input of income.

You must complete the Sage 50cloud integration with O365 before using Pegg.

Once you’ve connected your Sage 50 companies to O365, you’re ready to add Pegg.

To setup Pegg, go to https://hellopegg.io/ or https://www.sage.com/en-gb/products/pegg/ for the setup options of using Facebook or Skype.

Skype users, please note that currently, only the personal version of Skype can connect to Pegg. Skype for Business should be able to connect in the near future.

The following instructions use Skype. Add Pegg as a Contact/Bot to your personal Skype.

Once you start chatting with Pegg, it will introduce itself and outline the terms of use and privacy policy.

Pegg will then ask you for some information to connect your Sage 50 company information.

Firstly, you need to select your country and your Sage product. In this blog, we will select Sage 50cloud, but you also have the option to connect Pegg to your Sage Business Cloud Accounting (formerly Sage One).

When you choose Sage 50cloud, you will be prompted to accept permissions and log in with your Office 365 admin email.

Once logged in, go back to your Skype conversation with Pegg and select which company you want to access.
Once Pegg reads the company information, it will ask for a customer’s name. Please type the customer’s name.

Pegg will pull the customer’s information and you will be able to choose from the following options: Contacts, Credit or Invoices. For now, this is the information that Pegg can gather.

If you want to choose a different customer, simply type, “Other Customer.”
Similarly, if you want to choose a different company, simply type “Change company.”

If you type, “About,” you will get a message that Pegg with Sage 50cloud is still in beta test mode.
As explained above, some features are not yet available like vendor information and creating transactions.
You can also type, “Feedback” to give some suggestions back to the developers. Also, you can type, “Privacy” to view the Privacy Policy.

Once you’re done using Pegg, you can say, “Thank you,” or close out of the conversation.
