How to modify the hourly wage in Sage 50 CA

As of June 1st, 2019, the minimum wage rate has increased for the province of British Columbia. Wondering how to account for this in Sage 50 CA?

If you subscribe to a Sage 50 CA Business Care plan you'll have access to the payroll module.

  • Note: You can create cheques, but will need to subscribe to a payroll plan if you want to have tax table updates and automatic calculations for deductions such as EI, CPP, and more.
    • Contact our Sage 50 CA sales team at 1-888-261-9610 to inquire.

STEP 1: Launch the Sage 50 CA software and access the Employees & Payroll module's Employees icon to get a list of all employees.

STEP 2: Select an employee's profile to access, then visit the Income tab to access and modify the Regular Income's Amount per Unit.

STEP 3: Double click into the field to modify the hourly rate for regular pay, then click on Save and Close.

Note: Employee rates must be updated on each individual employee record.

Creating a paycheck in Sage 50 CA

Access the Paycheques icon in the payroll module to launch the paycheque screen, in the simplification below we selected the employee then date, checked that the hourly rate of pay matches what is the new minimum wage for BC as of June 1st, 2019.

Once ready just press process.
