Upgrading / Downgrading. 2022 file to 2021 ??

I am running 2021 Sage 50 Pro Accounting (for my business as well as 3 others).  My accountant did some changes for me on our business file and sent it back to me.  They used a newer version than what I'm running . I was under a time crunch so I did what I thought was a simple update to carry on.  I now have 2021 and 2022 on my desktop.  I posted away on the newer 2022 version.  Now when I go to open the 2022 version it wants product activation and it won't accept the Account ID or Key Codes. Because the file was worked on on a newer version the 2021 won't open it either.  So now I'm at a standstill and I need to get my work done :-S  If I could buy a new version and carry on, I would have no problem with that but I'm not down for the new "yearly" subscription so I'm trying to avoid that at all costs unless I have to.  I don't want to mess around too much and screw it up so much that I can't work on the other companies in the 2021 version since I can at least get their stuff done.  Any tips ?  Is their away to convert my 2022 cab file back to my 2021 version ?  When you upgrade from 2021 to 2022 is there a cost ?  Any tips appreciated.  Thanks

I think the only work around this problem is me opening on old back up and re-posting a few months on the 2021 version

Hi Jennifer: if the number of entries, including those that the accountant entered, are not to onerous of a task to re-enter, that will be your easiest and less expensive way to solve your problem. I have heard of services that can reset the version but that becomes costly. I have never required the service so I don't know the ballpark cost. Your accountant should be told about the problem and reminded again when the books go to them again. If they agree to continue as your accountant they must be able to properly handle your Sage file.

Thanks!  Yes I talked to the accountant and they tried to bring it up (the old version) but couldn't.  Ultimately it wasn't there fault but now we both know to mention it when I send my files.  We are going to go back a couple months to the last "old" back up and they are going to repost the entries for me!  So it could be way worse.  I don't like this pay per year thing so trying to avoid it!  Ha
