Thanks for reaching out. Did you ever find an answer for this issue? Sage 50 allows you to open multiple company databases at once. They'll each have their own window / UX access.

Sage 50 2017 is not available from Sage anymore. We have the 2017 Canadian version. You must have your client ID, serial number and key code. We do charge a small fee for the installation files. In order to open multiple companies at the same time is to simply go to the icon to open Sage 50 and open up another company while the other one(s) are still open. Hope this helps!

Pavlina, as you are a student, did you get the student version of Sage 50 from your instructor? if so you will have to go back to your instructor to get the program reinstalled. The student version needs unique Client ID, Serial number and key code which will not work using the regular Sage 50 program.

Alwyn and Agate have shared some helpful content. I'll just confirm that to use Sage 50, you have two options:

1. If you already have 2017 student codes to activate the software, you can proceed. These codes will allow you to use existing 2017 installation files (such as Agate's install file, but you will need to already have 2017 codes as these can no longer be generated*).
2. If you have student data files, you can use the Sage 50 Canada Student Version (2023) to convert and open them.

To get started, visit Sage Education. If you've already downloaded the software, go directly to activation. If not, then:

1. Open a web browser and go to the registration page.
2. Complete the form with your details.
3. Check your email for a reply from "Sage Team," which may take up to a day. If you don't see it, check your spam folder or email [email protected].
4. Use the Serial number and Key code in the email to activate Sage 50.
5. You can reuse these codes for reinstallation.

After registering, you'll see a "Get the software" section to download your software.

Important: Educational versions Sage 50 2019-2020 and Sage 300 2021 will retire on December 31, 2023. We won't provide support or codes after that date.

To convert files to the latest version:

• For a .CAB file, use "Restore from Backup" in Sage 50 Canada.
• For decompressed .sai and .saj files, choose "Select an existing company."
