I haven't had this issue myself, but there are a bunch of posts saying that you should type in just the 1st 7 characters of your password, see if that works.

    Hi @[email protected],

is correct. We shared the following solution to the issue you've encountered on our install tips here.

Older versions only recognized the first 7 characters of any password that was entered. In order to avoid issues logging in after upgrading, please open your company(ies) in Sage 50 2022 and follow this Sage Knowledgebase article to change your password to something with 7 characters or less (example, test123). Once you have finished converting your file in 2023, go back to the Sage Knowledgebase article and change your password again to anything you’d like!

    Hope this helps.

    Warm Regards,
    Erzsi

Below are some updated resolution steps from the knowledgebase article here.

    Resolution

Option 1: I was able to login with sysadmin with 2022 or older but not 2023.0

    1. Enter sysadmin as the User Name:
    2. Enter only the 7 characters of your known Password in the 2023.0 version.
      • To avoid password confusion, you can also change your password to less than 7 characters in the 2022 version by following How to change or delete a user's password?
      • Enter your new password for sysadmin when converting to 2023

Option 2: The error still occurs after entering my known sysadmin password

    1. If your system administrator does not know the password, contact Customer Support at 1-888-522-2722 for a password reset.
      • If the password reset does not work, restore from a recent backup on to a local drive by following How to restore from a backup.

Option 3: I can login with sysadmin but not with another username

    1. Login to the company using sysadmin as the username.
    2. Select Setup, then Set Up Users.
    3. Type the sysadmin password.
    4. Select OK.
    5. Select the User, then Modify.
    6. Enter the Password, then Re-enter Password.
    7. Select OK.
    8. Select Close.
