One worksheet can be used to view specific aspects of several different worksheets. This can be done using the Linked Picture option. There are a few options when consolidating information from multiple worksheets, and in this tip, we'll deal with the most popular. The option for this tip enables you to paste the copied cells as objects (pictures). Pasting them as linked objects is useful as you can resize the objects. This tool is helpful when you need to print multiple areas of a workbook onto one worksheet or if you need to create a dashboard summarizing parts of the workbook. You are welcome to download the workbook to practice. Applies To: Microsoft Excel for Windows 2010, 2013, and 2016. 1. Select the desired range to be copied. 2. Right-click the selected range, select Copy. 3. Navigate to the destination worksheet. 4. From the Home tab, in the Clipboard group, select the down arrow under Paste. 5. Select As Picture, Linked Picture. 6. Your object (picture) will now be pasted and can be resized as desired.
7. Repeat the above steps for additional objects.
By using this option, you'll be able to combine specific parts of several different worksheets in one worksheet. You'll also gain insight into business performance and easily recognize trends.
