How to Print a List of Named Ranges in Excel

1 minute read time.
It is very easy to create a large list of named ranges but to manage those ranges can be confusing, especially if you receive the workbook from somebody else. Having a list of the named ranges in your workbook could be helpful. To get a list, follow these steps: Applies To: Microsoft Registered Excel Registered for Windows 2010, 2013, and 2016 1. Select the cell where you want the list to start. It might be a good idea to use a blank worksheet particularly if there are quite a few named ranges in the workbook. 2. Display the Formulas tab of the ribbon. 3. In the Defined Names group, click the Use In Formula tool. (This tool is not available if there are no named ranges in your workbook.)
4. Choose Paste Names from the submenu. Excel displays the Paste Name dialog box.
5. Click on Paste List. The two-column list of names and their ranges is inserted.

The lists of named ranges are now displayed in your worksheet for ease of use.   In that way editing and using these names will be simplified as you can quickly access the names.
