Running detailed profit and loss reports for programs

We have 80 programs and we have a coa as Location-Program-Account xx-xxx-xxxx

we have been using ranges of program numbers and leaving gaps and we don’t want to reuse program numbers yet for a few different reasons but we have lots of inactive programs.

we can’t run the active programs easily as it runs a whole range together so runs ones we don’t need.

is there any way of eliminating the inactive ones and making the numbering system for the file naming to be in line with the program numbers ?

    How about using account code change to renumber your COA to make the active accounts in a continuous range, or using a macro to reports. A macro could either pick up a source list from a text file or Excel, or check if any accounts in a range are active before printing the range.
